07 Sep Houzz in Google Analytics
Do you check your Google Analytics account to see how many people come to your website from Houzz?
You should be doing this.
We’ve have noticed a problem that Google Analytics is no longer showing up.
In Google Analytics you can go to Acquisition>Social>Overview. Houzz should be listed there.
If you look at the data since July you will see that it has dropped to what appears to be zero. This is actually not the case as you probably have traffic coming to your website from Houzz but that it simply is not being reported.
We noticed this for all of our clients and reached out to Houzz. We asked if they were aware of this situation.
I was told:
“Earlier this Summer we made a security related site update that had caused Google Analytics not to read traffic from Houzz the same way. It was fixed July 27th, however, this morning it was brought to my attention that there have been a few recent reports that Houzz is still not linking properly with Google Analytics.
I’ve been told the engineers are working on another fix that should be live no later than tomorrow. Please keep me posted if you haven’t seen improvements in the next few days.”
We are going to keep an eye on this in the next few days and let Houzz know if it has been corrected.
Why should you care?
Website traffic from Houzz is important. This traffic represents very high quality people. People who are interested in remodeling or building a new home.
By getting these people to your website you are getting them one step closer to becoming a lead.
You just need to make sure that you have an awesome website and calls-to-action that convert.
