Google Analytics is changing its data retention policy on May 25, 2018.
Before May 25, 2018 you need to select what data retention dates will apply to your data.
You can choose 14 months, 26 months, 38 months, 50 months, or Do Not automatically expire data.

If you want to keep all data then you should select the Do Not automatically expire data or you risk losing data on your account.
Also, if you do not select an option then your data will default to 26 months and you risk losing data.
